13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.

Galatians 5:13–15 ESV
For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.

Joke: One day Adam was talking to God, and he ask, “God I’ve been wondering . Why did you make Eve so beautiful?”
God replies, “Because I wanted you to love her.”
Then Adam says; “God I have another question, but First let me say Thank You for making her so beautiful so I can Love her.
But she ate the fruit after you told us not to, so my question is, why did you make her so dumb?”
God answers, “Because I wanted her to Love You”
We are in the month of LOVE...
I asked you last week a question that I hope stuck with you throughout the week. And that question was...
What do You LOVE???
What are you thinking about, throughout the day?
What drives you, what pushes you, what motivates you.
Whatever just ran threw your head, are the things you love!
We probably just thought about different things just now, and Jesus Christ probably wasn't one of them.
I told you all the things I Love last week, but none out-rank the Love I have for God.
Once you understand, how much He loves us, It should drive us to love Him that much more.
Today’s Sermon is...

#229 "You shall Love"

He loved you when there was nothing good in you.

He loved you when there was nothing good in you.
How many people here would love to do things for others that have nothing good in them?
We barely want to do things for the people we love, let alone do something for someone who has no good in them.
Can I be real, can I be honest for a second...
We are born sinners, we only think about ourselves, we talk bad about others, we’re rebellious, we ‘re backsliders… Come on SOMEBODY!!!
Yet Jesus Christ still loves us.
They mocked Him, they beat Him, they Crucified Him, and yet He still loved us.
Martin Manser says love is this....
Love: A caring commitment, in which affection and delight are shown to others, which is grounded in the nature of God himself. Martin Manser.
Last Sunday we were on our way to Church and this man pulls out of his drive way and he is gunning it, because there are people coming.
And so he guns it out but there was a car coming on his side of the street and I was coming on the other side of the street so I watched as this guy pulls into the street although there was on coming traffic on both sides of the street.
Well the other car wasn't able to stop so he kept going and went around the car instead. This guy who pulled out in front of us gets out of his car and is going nuts, saying a lot of words I cant repeat to that car, then jumps back in and begins to chase him.
Im thinking for the Love of God, whats wrong with you man???
But thats exactly what it is, there is no Love of God, in him...
As we rolled on to church, My wife says to me, “whatever is going on in there is something deeper.”
Martin Manser.
How many know there’s something missing in that young mans life???

We cannot replicate the love of God, if He is not in us.

In his words and actions, and supremely in the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, God demonstrates the nature of love and defines the direction in which human love in all its forms should develop.
If God is Love and we don’t have Christ in our lives, we don’t even know what true love is.
In his words and actions, and supremely in the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, God demonstrates the nature of love.
When God sends His only son down to earth to die for each and every one of us, this demonstrates the Love of God.
John 3:16–21 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
John 3:16 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Some of us cant even give a hug, let alone one of our children to express our love.
Thats Love right there… Thats true LOVE!!!
Some of you are probably thinking
:16God defines the direction in which human love in all its forms should develop.
John 3:17 ESV
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
God defines the direction in which human love in all its forms should develop.
John 3:18 ESV
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
John 3:19 ESV
And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
Many of us don’t even realize we live in darkness, many believe they are just living life.
The truth of the matter is if you do not live for Christ, you live in the darkness and your works are evil...
H
The things you do are evil, and you think you're just living life.
John 3:20 ESV
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.
God defines the direction in which human love in all its forms should develop.
This is why so many try and stay away from church.
This is why so many come very so often, because they do not want to feel exposed before God.
John 3:16 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
They would rather miss church or better yet go to a church where no one holds them accountable and they can go and come as they please.
Can I tell you something, if you are apart of a church like this one or surround yourself with others who will help you expose the truths in your life, don’t run from them or us.
Keep us around, thats true Love!!! Love exposes the sin in our lives and helps us see the light.
John 3:21 ESV
But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

Love begins with understanding who God is and what He’s done for us.
When we understand that kind of Love, we can begin to replicate, and produce true love ourselves.

If we are in relationship with God, Love should come easy!!!

1 John 4:19 ESV
We love because he first loved us.
300 Quotations for Preachers You Hurt Yourself by Not Loving Enemies

You have enemies. For who can live on this earth without them? Take heed to yourselves: love them. In no way can your enemy so hurt you by his violence, as you hurt yourself if you love him not.

Matthew 22:39 ESV
And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
You Shall Love!!!
Love is huge, its doing things when you don’t even want to.
I want to end today with this story, there was a man named Jacob and he goes to the house of his uncle Laban.
Now Laban had two daughters… lets look at this real quick in
Genesis 29:16 ESV
Now Laban had two daughters. The name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.
Genesis 29:17 ESV
Leah’s eyes were weak, but Rachel was beautiful in form and appearance.
Genesis 29:18 ESV
Jacob loved Rachel. And he said, “I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel.”
Now I Love my wife… But to work 7 years to have her!!!
So Jacob works the seven years than watch what the Word says...
Genesis 29:20 ESV
So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her.
Oh MY!!! if this was in the movies half of you women would be crying right now. At least I know my wife would be.
Mimic: He loved her so much, it didn’t even feel like 7 years.
Genesis 29:21 ESV
Then Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife that I may go in to her, for my time is completed.”
And so the Word says they had a feast and celebrated but watch what Laban does.
Instead of giving his younger daughter Rachel who Jacob had fallen in love with, ever since he got that first kiss.
Which we didn’t read about but you can go home and read it later.
Genesis 29:23 ESV
But in the evening he took his daughter Leah and brought her to Jacob, and he went in to her.
Someone say uh-oh we have a problem...
Genesis 29:25 ESV
And in the morning, behold, it was Leah! And Jacob said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Did I not serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?”
And Laban tells Jacob listen it’s not our custom, to give you the younger one without first giving our firstborn.
Genesis 29:27 ESV
Complete the week of this one, and we will give you the other also in return for serving me another seven years.”
14 years Jacob had to work for the one he Loved.
Jacob did not allow anything or anyone from getting his love.
Today, do we have a Love for God like this?
That regardless of what life throws are way, nothing can separate us from Our Love for God.
I know He doesn't allow anything to separate His love from us, but do we allow the things of this world to separate our love from Him?
